Most refrigerator service calls fall into a handful of failure modes, and we've seen each one many times over. The fridge isn't cooling but the freezer is fine. Water is leaking onto the floor or pooling in the produce drawers. The ice maker has stopped producing or is overflowing. The compartment is making a clicking, buzzing or grinding sound. The door seal has gone soft and the unit can't hold temperature anymore. Frost is building up where it shouldn't.
We diagnose each one on site, then explain what's actually happening and what it will take to fix. Some failures are simple part swaps: a door gasket, an evaporator fan, a defrost heater, an inlet valve. Others involve deeper repair: a sealed-system leak, a control board, or a compressor diagnosis. French-door and side-by-side models have their own quirks (dual evaporators, water-line routing, hinge wear) and we know them. Built-in column refrigerators, especially Sub-Zero, get the certified technician they need.
We repair every major refrigerator brand sold in the United States: Whirlpool, GE, Maytag, Frigidaire, Samsung, LG, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Bosch, Viking, Miele, Cafe, Electrolux, Thermador and Sub-Zero. Same-day part availability for the mainstream brands; specialty parts for premium units typically next-day. We carry common parts on the van so we can complete most repairs in a single visit.
On the high end, we're certified on Sub-Zero, Wolf and Thermador – the trio that ships in most custom-build kitchens across north Atlanta. Sub-Zero refrigerators in particular reward proper diagnosis: opening a sealed system without the right tools and recovery equipment causes more damage than the original fault. We have the training, the tools and the genuine factory parts to do it right.
Cooling problems usually trace to one of four causes. The condenser coils on the back or underneath are clogged with dust, so the unit can't dump heat efficiently. The evaporator fan inside the freezer compartment has failed, so cold air isn't circulating into the fresh-food section. The defrost system has failed, ice has built up over the evaporator coil, and airflow is choked off. Or there's a sealed-system issue: a refrigerant leak, a stuck capillary, or a weakening compressor.
Each cause looks similar from the outside (warm fridge, possibly normal-sounding freezer) but each fix is different. We diagnose with proper instruments, not guesswork. If it's coils or a fan, we usually finish the same visit. If it's a sealed-system repair, we explain the cost up front so you can decide whether the fridge is worth fixing.

Honest answer: most of the time, repair is the better call. Modern refrigerators are not built the way they used to be. A 10-year-old fridge with a failed fan motor or a bad inlet valve will outlast a brand-new mid-range replacement. The exception is a sealed-system failure on a low-end unit out of warranty: when the repair quote approaches half the cost of a new fridge, replacement starts to make sense.
For premium units (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Miele) repair almost always wins. The compressor and cabinet are designed for 20+ year service lives and replacement parts are available long after the original warranty expires. We give you the numbers honestly, including a fair estimate of remaining life, and let you decide. We don't push replacement for the commission.
When you call, we book the soonest slot that works for you, usually same or next-day. The technician arrives within the appointment window, diagnoses the fridge on site, and gives you a clear written quote before any work starts. No prices over the phone, because the part you actually need depends on what the diagnosis turns up.
If you accept the quote, we proceed with the repair, often the same visit if the part is on the van. The trip charge is waived when you choose to go ahead with the repair, and the work is backed by a 3-month warranty on parts and labor. If you decide not to proceed, the trip charge covers the diagnostic visit and you keep the report. Straightforward, no pressure.
