Common dryer failures: the dryer runs but isn't producing heat. Cycles take twice as long as they used to and clothes come out damp. The drum won't turn but the motor sounds like it's running. The dryer won't start at all (door switch, thermal fuse, control board). Loud thumping, squealing, or grinding noises during a cycle. Burning smell from the cabinet or vent.
Most no-heat calls on electric dryers trace to a failed heating element, a blown thermal fuse, or a thermostat. Most no-heat calls on gas dryers trace to the igniter, gas valve coils, or a blown thermal fuse. Drum-not-turning calls are usually a broken drive belt (a 30-minute repair on most brands) or a worn idler pulley. Noise calls are usually drum rollers, idler pulley or blower wheel.
Every major dryer brand sold in the US: Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire, Kenmore, Bosch, Electrolux, KitchenAid, Speed Queen, Miele, plus the heat-pump dryer lineup. Gas and electric, vented and ventless, full-size and compact 24-inch units.
Samsung and LG steam dryers have specific quirks (steam-generator failures, control-board updates) and we know them. Heat-pump dryers (LG, Bosch, Miele) are increasingly common and require a technician familiar with the refrigerant-loop side of the unit, not just the heating element. We've got you covered.
On electric dryers: heating element, thermal fuse, high-limit thermostat, cycling thermostat, or the timer/control board. On gas dryers: igniter, gas valve coils, flame sensor, thermal fuse, or the gas supply itself. We test each component on site to identify the actual failure rather than throwing parts at the problem.
A blown thermal fuse is sometimes the symptom of a deeper issue: a clogged vent that's caused the dryer to overheat. We always check the vent path during a no-heat diagnosis, because replacing the fuse without clearing the vent guarantees the same call in 3 months.
Dryer Repair Across Buford and Greater Atlanta
We service dryers across Buford, Sugar Hill, Flowery Branch, Suwanee, Gainesville, Lawrenceville, Dacula, Duluth, Johns Creek and Alpharetta. If your dryer is paired with a matching washer, we can address washer repair on the same visit.
This is the single most-asked dryer question, and the answer surprises a lot of customers: about half the time, “my dryer is broken” is actually “my dryer vent is clogged.” A restricted vent strangles airflow, which forces the dryer to run far longer to remove the same moisture, which increases wear on the heating element and the drive system, which eventually triggers a real dryer failure.
We always check the vent path during a slow-drying diagnosis. If the dryer is fine and the vent is the problem, we point you to our dryer vent cleaning service instead of pretending the dryer needs work it doesn't. If both are issues, we can often address both in the same visit. Honest diagnosis: that's the whole point.
Schedule a call and we'll book you in same or next-day in most cases. The technician diagnoses on site, quotes clearly, and proceeds only with your go-ahead. Trip charge is waived when you proceed with the repair.
Every repair is backed by a 3-month warranty on parts and labor. If the same fault recurs, we're back at no charge. We carry the common dryer parts on the van so most jobs finish the same visit.
Dryer not heating, drum not turning, cycles too long, or making a noise it shouldn't? Call us. Every brand, gas and electric, and we'll tell you honestly whether it's a dryer problem or a vent problem.
This is what we do best.
