Most failures we see today, we've seen many times over. Do you charge a trip fee?
We charge a small diagnostic fee for the on-site visit, and that fee is waived when you proceed with the repair. The reason we don't quote prices over the phone is simple: the part you actually need depends on what the diagnosis turns up, and a phone quote based on a guess is unfair to both of us. Once we're on site and have identified the actual fault, you get a clear written quote and you decide whether to go ahead. No pressure.
Is it worth fixing my appliance, or should I replace it?
Most of the time, repair wins. Modern appliances are not built the way they used to be, and a 10-year-old fridge or washer with a failed wear part will often outlast a brand-new mid-range replacement. The exceptions are major mechanical failures on entry-level units past warranty, where the repair quote approaches half the cost of new. For premium brands (Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Miele) repair almost always wins, because the appliances are designed for 20+ year service. We give you honest numbers and let you decide.
