The microwave runs but isn't heating food (the most common call by far). The unit is sparking inside the cavity. The turntable won't rotate. The door won't latch closed, or won't unlatch when the cycle finishes. The keypad is unresponsive or some buttons work and others don't. The vent fan on an over-the-range unit is stuck on, or won't turn on at all.
No-heat is usually the magnetron, the high-voltage diode, or the high-voltage capacitor (always discharged carefully on every visit: microwaves store dangerous voltage even when unplugged). Sparking is usually a damaged waveguide cover or food residue arcing on the cavity walls. Turntable issues are the drive coupling, motor, or roller guide. Door issues are the latch assembly or the interlock switches behind it.
We service every form factor: countertop microwaves, over-the-range models with integrated venting, built-in trim-kit installations, microwave drawer units (slide-out style), and microwave-oven combo wall units (microwave on top, conventional or convection oven below). Each has its own service profile, but the underlying microwave engine works the same way across all of them.
Brands: Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Maytag, KitchenAid, Frigidaire, Bosch, Miele, Sharp, Wolf, Thermador and Panasonic. Built-ins and combos in custom kitchens across Suwanee, Johns Creek and Alpharetta are the highest-value units we see, and they get certified-technician service.
For countertop microwaves under $300 new, repair often doesn't make financial sense unless the issue is a quick door-latch or fuse swap. We'll tell you that honestly. The cost of a new magnetron plus labor exceeds the cost of a comparable replacement unit on entry-level models.
For built-ins, over-the-range units, drawer microwaves, and combo wall units, repair almost always wins. These units cost $800-$3,500+ to replace, the trim kit and venting are sized for the existing unit, and a microwave swap on a built-in often forces a cabinet modification. We do a fair cost-vs-replace analysis up front so you can decide.
Microwave Repair Across Buford and Greater Atlanta
We service microwaves across Buford, Sugar Hill, Flowery Branch, Suwanee, Gainesville, Lawrenceville, Dacula, Duluth, Johns Creek and Alpharetta.
No-heat in a microwave is almost always one of three components: the magnetron (the part that produces the actual microwave energy), the high-voltage diode, or the high-voltage capacitor. We test each on site with proper safety procedures (the capacitor in particular holds dangerous voltage long after the unit is unplugged).
Sometimes the door interlock switches are faulty in a way that prevents the microwave from energizing without a visible error: the unit appears to run, the turntable rotates, but no microwave energy is produced. We test the interlock chain as part of every no-heat diagnosis.
Call us and we'll book the soonest slot that fits your schedule. The technician diagnoses on site (microwave diagnoses are usually fast, 10-20 minutes), and quotes before any work starts. Trip charge is waived when you proceed.
3-month warranty on parts and labor as standard. We carry common microwave parts on the van and source brand-specific parts within 24-48 hours when needed.
